Ring Size Guide
Finding the right fit — for you, or for the person you're about to surprise.
Understanding Australian ring sizes
Australia uses the same letter-based sizing system as the UK — running from A (smallest) through to Z and beyond — rather than the numerical system used in the US. If you're used to seeing "size 6" or "size 7", don't worry: our conversion chart below bridges the two, and our team is always happy to help if you're unsure.
Most Amara Nova pieces are made to order, so your ring is cut and finished to your exact size — there's no need to compromise on what happens to be in stock.
How to measure at home
Option 1 — Use a ring you already own. Measure the internal diameter, edge to edge, in millimetres, of a ring that already fits the intended finger well. Match this against our size chart.
Option 2 — The string or paper method. Cut a thin strip of paper or non-stretch string, wrap it snugly around the base of the finger, and mark where it overlaps. Lay it flat and measure the length in millimetres — this is the circumference, which converts directly to a size.
Option 3 — Download our printable sizer. [Link to printable ring sizer PDF]. Print at 100% scale (select "no scaling" in your print settings), cut along the guide, and wrap it around the finger to read the size directly.
Option 4 — Request a free ring sizer by post. Prefer something sturdier than paper? We'll post a reusable plastic ring sizer at no cost — [sign up to our newsletter / request one here].
A few tips for accuracy: measure in the afternoon or evening, when fingers are at their largest; avoid measuring when cold, after exercise, or first thing in the morning; and if you fall between two sizes, size up rather than down.
Not sure of your size? (Surprise proposals)
Sizing a partner's finger without giving away the surprise is one of the questions we hear most — and one of the easiest to solve discreetly:
- Borrow a ring they already wear on the correct finger, even briefly, and measure its internal diameter
- Ask a friend or family member with a similar hand size to try our size guide against their own finger as a proxy
- Trace the inside of a well-fitting ring while it's off their hand — many people leave rings by the sink or bedside
- When in doubt, order a half-size larger — sizing down is generally easier than sizing up

Resizing after delivery
See our full Resizing Policy for terms. In short: [insert final policy wording from Section 3 once confirmed].
What can — and can't — be resized
Most solitaire and multi-stone rings can be resized up or down within two sizes. Eternity bands (stones set fully around the band) and some sculptural or heavily pavé-set designs have limited or no resizing capability, since stones would need to be removed and reset. We flag this on the product page wherever it applies.
